What we are looking for
We are Converge HR Solutions, a Human Resources consulting and outsourcing firm. We are seeking a part-time Human Resources Consultant to join our team. The HR Consultant is responsible for meeting the day-to-day HR needs of our clients, as well as managing projects and strategic-level initiatives. This role is primarily remote but may require occasional on-site visits to clients in the Philadelphia area.

This role will analyze and recommend solutions for all areas of the client's Human Capital Management strategy and for the development, revision, and implementation of human resource policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be client-focused and flexible, with extensive knowledge of various facets of HR. We are a growing small business and work closely together, so it is also critical to be able to effectively partner with a team of consultants.

While previous consulting experience is not required, the individual in this role must be capable of managing client relationships by setting priorities, communicating effectively, and building trust.

This is a part-time, remote position with an average of 15 to 20 hours per week to start, with an opportunity to grow into a full-time role as we onboard new clients.

What the position will be doing
  • Develop and coordinate Human Resource programs and practices, including onboarding, off-boarding, policy, job descriptions, performance management, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, HRIS, etc., for multiple Converge clients.
  • Act as a liaison to resolve routine questions regarding benefits, policy, and Human Resource practices to ensure effective policy utilization and positive employee relations.
  • With support from HR Associates, provide administrative support to Human Resource functions as needed, including correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry.
  • Ensure client policies and programs are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and implement employees' policies and procedures, as well as develop employee handbooks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed according to Converge processes.
  • Assess and propose opportunities for new programs/services for clients.
  • Collaborate with other Converge team members.
  • Attend Converge company planning meetings in Berwyn, PA on a quarterly basis.
  • Participate in internal (Converge) initiatives and committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned, not requiring materially different skills or competencies.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources management or other related business area.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Human Resources generalist, business partner, or similar role with responsibilities in all HR functional areas, including but not limited to performance management, employee relations, HRIS administration, policy development, and new hire onboarding/offboarding.
  • SHRM (CP or SCP) or HRCI (PHR or SPHR) certification is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage client relationships independently by managing ongoing priorities, leading recurring client meetings, responding timely to client communications, and proactively addressing client concerns and questions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven. Relentless attention to detail and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to think and act independently, formulate and support new ideas, and champion new initiatives within and beyond the scope of own responsibilities.
