Summary
Our client in the landscape and lawn services industry is seeking a Director of Human Resources to oversee their HR operations. This person will provide the daily management of the HR function. This will include the full employment life cycle from recruiting to offboarding. This critical role will guide leadership development, performance management, talent management, organizational alignment, culture, and colleague engagement. The goal for this position is to build on what our client has established and ensure the organization can support their growth plans.
This role will be based in West Chester, PA, with a minimum of 2 to 3 days in the office, depending on business needs, after an introductory period.

Be the HR SME – leveraging a management team with expertise in their respective areas, you will own the HR function and be responsible for ensuring the company is both treating its people fairly and remaining up to date and compliant with the constantly evolving HR regulatory environment.

- Develop workforce planning strategies to meet the company’s current and future talent needs.
- Oversee talent acquisition processes to ensure the organization attracts, retains, and develops high-caliber talent.
- Manage employee learning, training, and development initiatives to build a high-performance workforce.
- Further advance leadership development programs to prepare high-potential employees for leadership roles.
- Provide input to executive management on business strategy and offer HR insights on all aspects of the business.

Skills, Education & Abilities
What you’ll need to bring
- Previous experience supporting an employee community in a fast-paced, service industry organization (such as home services, field services, construction, or a similar industry)
- An advanced HR certification, such as a SHRM-SCP or SPHR
- Strong experience leading talent identification and development initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-site recruiting and employee lifecycle initiatives at scale.
- Deep knowledge of employment law, labor regulations, and HR best practices across multiple states (PA, NJ & DE with possibility of expansion into other states).
- A service-minded mentality – Understand and support the needs of a frontline, field-based workforce.
- An excellent communicator – Capable of building trust and rapport at all levels of the organization.
- A collaborative influencer – Work cross-functionally and effectively within a team-oriented leadership structure.
- Hands-on and approachable – Willing to dive into the day-to-day when needed and stay connected to frontline realities.
- A strategic thinker – Able to connect people strategies to business objectives and scale HR to support rapid growth.
- A data-driven decision maker – Utilize metrics and analytics to guide decisions and measure success.
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 10 or more years of HR experience with 4 or more years of management of an HR function, including people, is required
